Are items interchangable with GM parts?
for example would a frog syle battery............ (http://www.goldenmotor.com/FrogBatteryPack2.jpg)
.....simply plug into a Prokit 901 (motor and controller)

I understand that battey and motor voltage would have to be the same. but are all lead connectors the same.
i suppose a great benefit of the MP is the is that it can accept versitile voltages

As I will recall there are no connectors on the froggie. I have fitted the controller in the box underneath it so it became a very neat installation and extremely short cables between the battery and the controller. The froggie is placed just above the pedals and not under the seat.
Remember there is a small battery so the amount of amps should be limited.

If just buy a frog battery, connector(N/A);
If buy a kit with battery,include all kinds of connector.

Haha, My wife says that looks just like me!
Anyway the Frog style battery currently only has 2 wires coming from the bottom. One red and one black. Tom was telling me there will be a connector plug on the frog style batteries in the near future, but not sure what it will look like. I also added these batteries to my site as well as the build you own kit page. I didnt realize they were not even listed :-[

Looks like this will be the frog battery plug in the very near future. The blue and red plugs on the right are the current hookup and the plug on the left the new plug.

i like the idea of being able to interchange motors and batteries. It could become a good way that GM future proof products as they evolve and come onto the market. Easy 'Plug n Play' modifications, and it could prevent older products from becoming obsolete or uncompatible.
By the way Gary,, I love the quiff ;)

Speaking of interchangable. Well its really not interchangable but easy to remove. If you have ever had a flat or wanted to remove your wheel to get it trued. It is such a hassle to take a wheel off that has an external controller as the wires are usually tucked away in a controller box or pouch. I had a front wheel flat and what a pleasure it was to simply unplug my pie and pop off the wheel. Then I fixed it easily on a picnic table in the park and put it back on plugged it in and off it went!

BTW what is a quiff? Do you mean the super hero outfit? At first I thought it was silly but now Im thinking of wearing one full time!

One thing I am noticing on the 16 cell lifepo4 batteries. Is my charger is set to 61.4v
My MP magic controller has a HVC at 59.8v Hot off the charger I have to wait under 3 mins for the volts to drop to 59.7v before the bike throttle will operate.

a quiff is a hair syle where the front is brushed up, made popular in the 1950's - 60's with the 'Teddy boy' movement and rock n roll

WoW! Thats some look. Everything about that is amazingly awkward looking! Its looks like he fell asleep with his head out the window of a car in the rain. Then the wind dried it up into that look. Maybe thats how they came up with it. A band traveling on the road, tired .....
