It's been almost a week and I haven't heard a reply back from anyone.

Would it be better to go through PayPal and request a refund through them? So I can reorder the charger through someone more reliable?

Hey Mark,

I think I am having a similar problem, but I'm not sure it is the charger... what is the status of your situation?

I am just wondering if your battery is marked with the voltage as well. Are you sure its a 36 volt battery?

The charging voltage for the standard Lithium Manganese packs are as follows:

Chargers for 48V packs are usually marked 54.6V
Chargers for 36V packs are usually marked 42V
Chargers for 24V packs are usually marked 29.4V

I seem to recall Gary mentioning that the LiFePO4 packs use the same chargers.

Hi Guys are these ouput voltages on chargers min ? or max ? or +/- % ? or are they subject to Magic ?

Thank You !

The voltages stated are the pre-set maximum charge voltage, and I would expect the actual output to be within ±0.1V of the stated figures.

Hi Mm and all !
at the time only to ouput of charger (RCA cut down centre pin ) plug ...OK ! may be something there ! but battery (GM 48v 12 A  only ever manged two thirds or the distance of SLA's 4 x12v 12 A .
( run on both batteris ) more wieght !... so they were only connected for emergency to go to ( jail do not collect 200 pounds )

Hi all
recieved email today from dealer !  some answer you back !
and the good news about 48v 12A battery pack dealer would like 385$ to change internals to 48v 8A....
What do any of you think about that (P.S. thats on promotion )

Might be cheaper to run it on DURACEL's
and I could just buy them as I go ! pop into shop .gas staition supermarket or even 7/11
Many thanks

This may not actually be true. When receiving my first shipment of batteries that were lifepo4 and lithium I noticed the chargers looked identical but some of the charger boxes were marked LT for lifepo4. I asked china if there was any difference and they of course said "they are all the same, do not woory". Now recently they have told me they are different. It would seem the first answer was an aswer of convenience, not fact.

Why on earth do you want to change the battery from 12 to 8Ah? You will only have 20A max continuous output and 30A peak max let alone less range.

Perhaps you may be better off with Duracell after all

Hi Monkeymagic and all
Well the GM dealer thinks it's a good idea ! to go from 12A to 8A  ::) as I purchased the pack from him .
Think I better try get dealer to send it to me back (but it might get lost now in the post )
maybe the service charge might be 385$ plus postage  ::)
This get as good as Garmin here got Offical Garmin to put new lithium batt in they broke the board no sound anymore and charge me 50$ and refused to repir (garmin is which country ) for the Privilege as they say now anything more than six months old is obsolete and not worth repairing.

Surprisingly I find it extremely difficult to believe a dealer would suggest changing a 12Ah pack to an 8Ah, I won't even ask about what battery management is supposed to replace the original.

Plus the fact the 48v packs are tack bound by 3, it would be a complete mess if you wanted to do this.

Which dealer are you buying from? You seem to buy alot of broken stuff  ???
