Warning- stupid question- about wiring in parallel & series...
« on: September 22, 2015, 04:49:51 AM »
Ummm... Stupid question here but hypothetically, if I'm wiring up say 5S5P battery (I'm not it but hypothetically)...

(A) Should I wire all the cells in series 1st & then group them in parallel 2nd?

(B) Or should I wire all the cells in parallel 1st & then group the parallel cells into series 2nd?

(C) Or should I do each cell in series & parallel one by one?

(D) Or does it not matter?

Adam

BTW- GM.ca's 48V 30A battery is a 16S3P battery right?

Correct me if I'm wrong but...

Assuming that say 3 of those 10A cells (MCD=3C/ MPD=5C/ MC=2C) are wired in parallel, it results in a 1S3P 30A battery with MCD=90A/ MPD=150A/ MC=20A...

So that if the cells are wired into a 1S6P 60A battery with MCD=180A/ MPD=300A/ MC=20A?

& so on & on...

Basically the MCD & MPD are multiplied by the cells Ah, then multiplied by the number of cells in parallel...

But the MC remains the same regardless of amount of cells in series or parallel...

This is hurting my brain... I have not wired any batteries in a while & I want to be sure I am remembering this correctly...
