It seems my 10kw BLDC motor has a problem..
« on: October 05, 2012, 12:17:28 PM »
I'm a student in South Korea studying engineering.

anyway, I recently purchased a bldc 10kw motor on Ebay and tested it.

meanwhile, I noticed that the shaft from the motor is not right in center!

I think it would cause several problems so I wonder if I can get it repaired.

I attatched several photos

It's difficult to say for sure with all the shadows on your photos, but I think what you are seeing is the shaft not being centred within the inner portion of the circlip that retains the bearing, rather than the actual housing.
The inside of the circlip is not supposed to be concentric with the shaft because the circlip itself is tapered:

This gives the illusion of the shaft being off centre, but if you compare it with the recess in the casing, you should be able to see that the shaft is actually centred correctly within the motor housing. ;)

If you have a drill bit that just fits in the gap between the shaft and the housing, you should find that the gap remains constant all around the shaft, proving that the shaft is perfectly centred.
