Rare & collectible Honda StepCompo electric folding bicycle I'm doing up
Never sold in Australia, This unusual Honda bike is Made in Japan.
Going to use Golden Motor 36v 10amp Frog style battery ;D As I opened the origenal to reveal 18x 'D' size NiMH batteries that add up to produce the 24volts 3.4 amps
Tokyo, April 5, 2001 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd.announced the April 6, 2001 release of a new motor-assisted bicycle, the "Step Compo", featuring a compact, lightweight, stylish design and foldable construction that allows easy storage and transport.
Using normal running pattern.
Motor assistance reduces required pedal pressure to about half that required by normal bicycles between take-off and acceleration up to 15km/h. Motor-assist power begins to decrease gradually after 15km/h, eventually reaching zero at 23km/h.

nice bit of engineering. I bet that cost a few quid to buy when it was launched.  Future museum piece?

I wonder if there are any possible collectables out there?  Before the Chinese took over things.

You'll probably know of this one....... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_C5

I wonder if that's what Clive Sinclair was thinking? :D

QUOTE:"A heavily modified C5 reached a top speed of 150 miles per hour (240 km/h) and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 5 seconds taking the speed record for an electric vehicle".  - was that done by you Ginge? or was it Monkey Magic?  ;)

was there pink frilly tassles, or did the air filled with ethanol fumes behind the  vehicle shimmer like a desert mirage...may be able to narrow down the cultprit based on that......

Already looked at the mechanical drawings.....god I need to get out more....

but good news.. the original had a hoover geared motor and a cam belt,,,,could be replaced by the GM 10KW Motor......powered by "kung fu" lyen himself, with his 24Fet WTF edition controller ( yes he has done a 24fet !!)).....

30,000watts of C5 8)

Frilly tassles, ethanol fumes, shimmer and desert mirage. You must be on the 'special stuff' tonight.

I've been drinking from this farm yard over the weekend... http://www.gwatkincider.co.uk/aboutus.html  I met the maker on the weekend. bought one flaggon of Foxwhelp (dry) and one flaggon of Norman(medium).  best cider  ;D ;D
