MP5 Motor Coming Out Of Rear Bike Dropouts
« on: August 10, 2016, 07:28:42 PM »
Hello everyone.  I have an MP5 motor I am having trouble keeping it from coming out of my rear bike dropouts.  The rear dropouts are shallow however I am trying to make due.  I have 2 rear torque arms one on each side of the rear wheel.  Gary suggested I add two additional torque arms to try to prevent the wheel from coming out of the drop outs.  I am unsure of how to attach the second set of torque arms.  Below is a picture of my rear wheel with the current torque arms.  Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had these these problems and found a solution?  Aside from getting a new frame any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Jeremy

You could try adding the extra torque arm in a mirrored position. The most reliable option would be to weld on some extra metal for the dropout. I've also heard that is possible to "glue" on some torque arms using epoxy.

Hello Pwd thank you very much for your reply and suggestion.  I added the torque arm in a mirrored position as you suggested and this has been working like a charm for quite some time now!

Thanks again all the best cheers!
