Unable to change maximum rpm setting on Magic Pie 5

I have a problem with the speed limit on my Magic Pie 5.
I cannot change it from default 380. Everything else changes, not speed limit.
But the motor cuts off at 200 rpm ca 20km/h.
Any tips what to do?
I have tried different versions of the software.

I do not understand what the problem is, as I understand there is no speed limiter, only rpm limiter, which as you write 200 rpm is app 20 km/t, so figure your rpm at the speed you need your limit at and set that rpm as max.
You will always be able to pedal faster, but motor leans out at limit. The easy way to find and set limit is using the bluetooth and a phone with golden motor app, as it reads out rpm as well as speed if set up correctly.

The problem is I cannot change the rpm limit. It is 380 by default. And it changes back to default after downloading.
But even if it says 380, the bike only does 200rpm.

Do you try changing via pc link or bluetooth?
I have only tried bt and not all phones can write to the controller.
What voltage is your battery? I suspect 24v doesnt go much higher than 200 rpm.

I have tried both usb and bluetooth. I have also tried different versions of the software.
I have 48v, and the acceleration is pretty good.
The log says

If all of the other settings can be changed and saved, but the rpm setting still cannot be changed, it would appear to be a problem with the controller itself.

I suggest that you contact your supplier and explain the problem to them.

according to all I know about the (GM) BLDC controller (up to the MP4) this function is done via the input voltage, not some controller setting (you could limit somehow). As you have 20km/h I guess you are using a 20" rim with 48V battery (else I couldn't find a mathematical explanation for your limit).
BUT Alan surely knows better as I never had an MP5 :-)

I have tried to change Everything in the program. Voltage etc.
I have a 26" wheel. But if the input voltage was low. Then I would not be able to get 26 amps?
How do I see the input voltage.
And it is not like its trying to go faster. The acceleration is quick, it reaches max speed of 200rpm in seconds. Then it cuts off.  Using almost no power like a limit on 200rpm.
I am going to update the controller today. And if that does not work they are going to send a new controller.

Sam, although the battery voltage (input voltage) will ultimately govern the absolute maximum rpm of the motor, on the earlier controllers there was a "FWD speed Scale" setting to allow users to set the maximum speed (rpm) to a lower value if required:

Thor, the input voltage that Sam was referring to is actually the battery voltage, which can be seen on the Bluetooth display next to the battery gauge:



It will be interesting to see if the controller update makes a difference.

The voltage is now 52,6.
It does feel like everything work like it should, except the max rpm. I had 15-20 km/h up a steep hill. And the acceleration is good.
The update dit not make any difference.

The new controller should cure the problem and allow you to almost double your top speed!

that's exactly what I wanted to express: the Vin Limits the RPM whatever you set, but the internal RPM/throttle limit (that's what he could not change for whatever reason) should not be fixed.

Hello again.
Now I got the new controller. And now I have A LOT more speed. It is fast.
I have not connected it to the usb or bluetooth yet.
Do you know how the standard settings are now? Before I connect it to the PC?
Is it 48v, 25amp??


I will connect it later today, but I have to try it some more incase it will not work again
