Trying to find a cheaper battery.
« on: August 03, 2013, 06:38:19 AM »
I want to buy the Magic Pie 3, but the battery is really expensive. I saw the MiroMax video where the guy explained that there were different batteries you could use. The video showed one that looked like a water bottle. I can't find these on any site and when I find sites that sell batteries it's always that big one you fit on the rack that costs 400 something dollars. That's a bit out of my price range to spend almost 1000 dollars for everything. I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a cheaper battery that worked as well or one that gets less performance but still works properly.

Hi

I found a 48v 10ah battery on http://www.alibaba.com direct from China.

Cost me $360 but I am having it shipped to the UK so might be cheaper if you are located elsewhere?

Please note I haven't received it yet (only been 5 days so far) so I'm not making any recommendations.

I'm a bit worried about how to connect to the MP3 as the connector looks different to the carrier mounted batteries sold by GM. I've posted in this forum looking for some clarification but no replies yet....

GM China sell them on their website, but unfortunately they contain Lithium Manganese cells instead of the much preferred LiFePO4 cells.
Click on the EV Battery tab and then scroll down the page to find them:
