No, I have never dealt with a Kelly controller.  Not a clue what a HBS-48 looks like, even.  But, I'm old and have fixed a lot of different things, so here is a suggestion you can use or ignore as you wish.

Since what you are really looking for is the information of what sequence the hall effect sensors must be in to make the wheel turn in some direction, you can make the job easier by leaving the phase winding sequence in any arbitrary state, and merely swap the hall sensor wiring until you get the wheel to turn in any direction.  (Only 12 choices, right?)  When you have the wheel running well, you will either have it running in the desired direction  (YAYYYY), or the wrong direction (fooeey).  If you have to, you can then swap  any two phase wires to change the direction of rotation, then change the sensor sequence to restore operation.  (One of 3 choices now)

And then write down the color sequence in at least three places.....  Trust me:)

Dennis

Thank you,

the combo which works for me (KBS72121 and HBS-48) is:

G-Y
Y-G
B-B

for both phase AND hall wires,

(same with the Hua Tong 72V 40A controller, see: endless-sphere.com forum)

And storing the sequence information on a web site is even better than writing it down in 3 places.

Glad to be of help (if I was)
