Dual Magic Pie - Connection of battery

Hi fellas.
I was wondering how the dual MP kit (purchased for a customer in May this year, he's just finishing his project now  ) is meant to plug in to the battery..  The wiring harness is going to both wheels, but does each wheel need to be connected to the battery, or just one wheel, and power will flow through to the other?  If each wheel eeds to be connected, how is this best done?  He claims to have not received the cables to make this possible.
Also, how do the lights wire up with this dual drive wiring loom?  He's having some trouble with this, saying:  "There is a wiring diagram for the magic Pie, but it doesn’t make sense with the connectors and wire I have been given.  Is there a better diagram that is specific to the two motor loom?"
Would love any suggestions to pass onto him.

I have not seen a factory produced dual pie harness so I'm not sure exactly how it's wired, but I would expect a "Y" type of power lead with a single battery connector fitted to one end, and two power supply cables on the other (one for each of the motors).

If the lead is not pre-assembled it will be necessary to connect both motor power leads together in parallel and then connect them to the single battery lead.

Here's a diagram that Leslie drew up showing most of the connections on a dual pie circuit:


If you could post some pictures of the harness and connectors, we might be able to work out where the lights are supposed to connect.

Sometimes, the switch on the throttle is used for reverse, but I don't know if the switch on the dual pie harness is wired for reverse or for the lights.

This guy was assuming there would need to be power directly to both motors, something like this:

Although I'm not sure posting the image is working here..  He's requesting another of the battery to motor cables (with the plug which has a male and female point on each side)
But it sounds like the power only needs to go to one wheel and will be carries onto the other motor through the wiring harness, great!
If anyone else knows any different, please let me know.

Hmm, I'm confused as to which part of my opinion was not the whole truth.

To avoid any confusion, I produced the above diagram and inserted it into Gary's post to clarify what had previously been described by both myself and Gary, it was a direct visual interpretation of my initial reply.

If there are two opinions on an answer and one is mine and the other is Alan's, I would say believing Alan first is the way to go. Basically we both said the same thing but my explanation was simpler.

Although I'm only a few miles away from you (well, give or take 10-11,000 miles) I've already got things planned for tomorrow so I'll have to give it a miss this time, but I may take you up on that offer the next time I'm passing through outer eastern Melbourne.
