BLT 800w motor

BLT 800w motor ;D
This is one powerful little motor more powerful than a Magic Pie at 48v  :o
The original gearing I used on my Black Chopper was 9 to 36 it was about 5km/h slower at 40km/h
than a Magic Pie with a 26" rim but it pulled up hills much better than a Magic Pie so I tried a different gearing 9 to 24 it pushed the Black Chopper to just over 50km/h on flat ground and it still pulled well up the hill as good as a Magic Pie at 48v at speed you could feel the BLT 800w motor pulling hard at 50km/h 8) powering a racing bike I"m sure it would go even faster ???
It does use a 420 wider 1/2 bike chain sprocket and that makes it a little more noisy but overall its a great little BLDC motor. Golden Motor has done it again  ;D
Five out of five stars from me

Test was done using Cruise Controller
and 48v 12amp Golden Motor LiIon Battery ;)

Fantastic news Who42!!

But are all the new topic posts necessary? lol its good you are excited :)

Don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, but I think the other forum members would benefit seeing the whole post including your sprocket saga. Great build !

Thanks Who42.
Nice.  I'm planning on doing the same with a 500W BLT.

BB drive seems to make sense.  I think the motor likes the gear choices at the rear axle just like our muscles do.
Would you care to share some links for sourcing freewheels for the motor and for the pedals at the BB?

Oops. I thought you were doing a mid-drive set-up.  Yours is motor to rear hub direct chain right?  Got pictures?  Thanks.
