Yao,

I've only just noticed that interface leads are now available for programming the speed controllers:

Do these work with all the Magic Pie and BAC cruise controllers, or just the newer ones?
If they're only suitable for newer controllers, from what date onwards are they compatible?

What program does it use to access the controller and what parameters can be changed?
ie. Maximum current, Maximum speed, level of regenerative braking, high and low voltage cut-off settings, amount of Pedelec assistance etc.

Any chance of some screenshots etc?

As much information as possible would be very useful, but I don't suppose it will work with my Magic Pie as my yellow lead is not connected to the speed controller. :(

Ok, i'll try to find out more about it, i'm busy with another thing at the moment. Apparently, it's for the controllers after this was being put on the web. The older controllers don't have RAM I guess.

YESSSSSSS....

When will the software be available?

Will it work with Magic Controllers before 2.0?

When will we get an IPhone app???????

On behalf of our friends in Europe, will top speed be an adjustable parameter?

I am holding my breath...........

Since we have made changes to controller software, therefore only new version of MagicPie and External Cruise Controller are programmable.

Yao, the compatibility with Magic Pies is clear, but the reference to the External Cruise Controller is slightly ambiguous.
Can you clarify whether it's just the new External Cruise Controllers, or any of the External Cruise Controllers (old or new) which are programmable?

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Maybe that's why my 48 Volts seems tame!

I want one of these!

Can you ride the bike with the computer plugged in and play with things on the fly or is it a change settings and reboot situation?

One more question: does it come with the software?

OK--I have been told by Mike at GM USA that the software DOES NOT ship with the cable.  He did try to email it to me but I could never make it run.  I know that I would not be happy if I spent 50 bucks on a USB cable that I could make for 5.  This product is useless until they figure out how to distribute the software.

But the cable is ONLY compatible with the upcoming versions of the controller and Magic Pie!!! It is not compatible with the actual ones!!

Once again GM shows its ability to manufacture things and its utter inability to market them.

I was told that the cable would work with my external controller but they had no way to send me the software except for email or paying extra to have someone burn a disc.

This reminds me of Japan before Peter Drucker and W. Edwards Demming straightened them out in the 1960's.

Who is your customer?  What does your customer consider value?

Sell me a controller and then two weeks later tease me with a way to program it--this is just a sure fire way to piss off customers which seems to be the only thing that GM can do better than making hub motors.

Hello,

this interests me too. I made a simple thread here:
http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=1957.0
before I found this. So admin can close my thread, if reading this.

Ok, I have thought the following:
1. order the DIY KIT with motor, rim, pedelec, brakes and throttle
2. order the cotroller and the interface in separate package

This is because You cant include the programming interface to the DIY KIT.
Should I wait a while before ordering to make sure to get the new
one?

Who knows about the software? It would be nice to include the cd
in the shipment of the USB interface cable.

Once more, these are truly fantastic features that Golden Motor
are offering. Very nice indeed.javascript:void(0);

Ok, very cool:

there is now the program download link at the eBike D.I.Y page ! :)
EDIT: and it works straight on (tested it on winXP)!

But, could someone confirm if I order the controller, it will be the new one?
Anyone, please?

I think it should be, because it reads on the same page at least.

thx

ps: My need it's to change the regen brake setting
