Simulating the throttle input of a BAC 281 with an Arduino
« on: October 21, 2019, 05:45:58 PM »
Hi,

I would like to be able to control my Golden Motor Controller BAC 281 with an Arduino.

Of what I understood and measured with a voltmeter, the tension going out of the red cable is 5V ; and re-directed to GND unless the HALL sensor is activated.

The tension between the green and the black GND cable is 0.8 ; and increases up to 5V.

I tried simulating the output with an Arduino to no avail by setting the output at 3.6V and connecting to the green cable.

Is there anything I missed ?

Thx

Hi Lasero andto the forum.

A safety feature of the controller prevents the motor from running when you power up the controller with the throttle either partially or fully applied.
To prevent this from happening, you will have to supply 0.8~1V on the green signal wire before increasing the signal voltage to engage the motor, or else the controller will remain disabled.

The motor usually starts to operate at ~1.25V and maximum power requires ~3.25V.
