Problems with 10kW motor
« on: June 05, 2018, 10:38:31 PM »
hi guys

my names rusty, new member.

I have a slight problem that I could do with some help with.

i have a new 10 kw Gm motor and controlller kit, think I have found the correct way to reverse the motor to Clock wise to suit the build im doing, only trouble now is when you run it up it snatched and don't power just now and again.

there keeps coming up with a hall sensor fault flashes 5 times, if it don't do that then it flashes/beeps about 16 times.

any help would be fantastic to get this up and running perfect.

thanks for your time.

Hi Rusty andto the forum.

To reverse the motor's default direction of rotation from the standard wiring, the Blue and Yellow Phase wires must be swapped over on the controller terminals, and the Green and Yellow Hall sensor wires must be swapped on the Hall sensor connector.

Of the 36 different Hall and Phase wire combinations there are only 3 that will correctly reverse the motor's direction of rotation, and if you are not using one of these 3 correct combinations, then the motor will not run properly.

I suggest that you set the wires as mentioned above and see if it cures the problem.
