Allan, you mentioned that you would like to know if the NEW battery gauge was any more accurate than the old one.
I do not know how accurate the old gage was but except for indicating the system is powered the new one is useless. I went out yesterday determined to get the LCD display to drop by at least one bar. After 20 miles I had failed in that effort. Today I went to the grocery store. Within in one mile the LCD display went from FULL to one bar. I had to pedal home with 40 pound of groceries staring at battery gauge showing two LEDs (one green, one red).
GM could save themselves some money and save customers some flustration by doing away with the LED battery gauge. THe LCD display could be improved by replacing the Bar Graph with something meaningful like the actual battery voltage.
