BTW unless the program indicates the program has updated the controller, the settings will not change. I forget what it says but the PC beeps and some red text comes up saying load success or something like that.. Try programming 5% speed and see if the bike runs very slowly to test if the program cable is functioning properly.
There is a way to bypass regen and still make the motor shut down.
R1 is up for discussion, This is so your do not stress the hall sensor sinking the output to a ground, and the diode is to mimic the V drop expected from the throttle.
I would use a multimeter set on milliamps and run the red wire current through a multimeter to test how much the circuit draws normally, then try a 750 ohm to 500 ohm, if the bike slows too much, try around 400 ohm, you shouldnt need to go much lower, you wont notice any loss.
With a cycle analyst, it does a similar thing to limit the trottle and the circuit is much the same, but the resistor is 330 ohms, so I wouldn't use a resistor lower than 330 ohms for R1. It depend on the hall sensor and the circuit, but your throttle hall sensor will be safe at 5ma or lower with the below mod.
