Hi All,

I'm trying to compare the LiFePo4 battery charging processes, which are done using a (1) Charger with a Balance Port and (2) Charger and BMS. What's the difference?

From my understanding, while using the Charger and BMS, all the cells in the battery are charged with the same current until one of the cells reaches its maximum capacity/voltage. When it happens, the BMS cuts off the charger's output to the battery and starts a balancing process.

But, while using a Charger with a Balance Port, all the cells are charged separately - each one to its maximum capacity/voltage. The balance process is not required since all the cells are charged to their maximum capacity/voltage.

Am I wrong in something? Please correct me.

Thank you!
