I don't know that looks ugly though.
Do your bearings still spin?
And that looks close to the bearing seat but its only lead and tin a gm motor would of chewed that off and up grinded it into dust in about 3 seconds.
Look for washers or things that stick to the magnets as things tend to almost fly from 1 foot away just to stick to them.. look for scratches along the electro magnets (winding cores) around the whole rotor as they should show un scratched and any sign of scratches shows you have a rotor sticking problem or something is stuck to the magnets. Test if you bearing spin and finaly make sure you centre the rotor properly when you reseal the hub.
Lastly you wont be able to turn the axle by hand if any of the 3 phase power wires (the thick ones) are touching each other. It creates a magnetic field between the windings and magnets that sticks the rotor like regen does, so it might turn after all if you check those phase wires.
