My brand new GM kit does not work

I have a GM frontwheel conversion kit with the 250W mini motor and a magic controller.

When I turn the throttle the motor tries to start but it fails and the controller beeps twize. So I guess the hall sensor is broken... That is just amazing on a brand new kit....

Well the magic controller should still work right? But it does not. I can not get the motor to run. No matter what I try the motor does not start.

Any suggestions on what I could do?

All I can say is that the same thing has happened to me.
Once the Hall Sensor on the Mini-motor's go, you're going to need a new motor.  Since it has a freewheel in it, you can't use sensorless control on it, so until you get a replacement one, the motor will NOT run.

I was one of the unfortunate ones that this happened to, IMMEDIATELY after the "warranty" has run out, so basically I'm out $300+ and a motor...

I'm having someone TRY to make the freewheel mechanism lock, and IF it can be done, It'll cost me ANOTHER $125 just to get it "fixed"

They are selling an inferior product, and when it breaks, they wait until it's out of warranty to talk to you and then say, sorry... you're screwed after spending $300 on a useless piece of crap, that we should have warned you about, instead of just trying to screw ya, but the Mini-motors have too many problems and have been known to break very easily and if your hall sensors go, you're screwed too, and have to have someone fix the mini-motor, to turn it into a NON freewheeling item, and after you've spent the $75 to $100 to have someone do that for you, you now are smart enough to ever buy another GM product again.

Pål, the following might help;

How to work with motor hall-sensor malfunctions:
The controller will detect motor hall-sensor failure and make 2 beeps of sound, and then it automatically
enters into sensorless control mode. Turn the throttle to run the motor. You may need to push/pedal the
ebike or vehicle a bit in case the motor does not move from stall (This is sensorless control limitation, but
happens seldom).

Unfortunately the minimotors have a built in freewheel device, which prevents the motor from being manually turned in the forward direction in order to get it started in sensorless mode, which is why yours won't run.

It might be a good idea to re-check all the obvious connections again.

I must have checked the connections a hundred times and never noticed the plug from the wheel with five wires from it had one wire that had somehow slipped around to the out side of the plug.

I suggest you start by closely inspecting all the cables and connectors between the motor and the controller, to see if you can find any loose or incorrectly fitted connections. If it is a connection problem, simply unplugging and reconnecting the connections may be all that's required.

Although it could be a faulty hall sensor, it's definitely worth checking the simple things first.

Well do you work the afternoon & replace a couple $2.00 hall sensors or do you want work the afternoon repacking a broken, hub spend around $300 in shipping then wait a month.

One thing that you can rely upon is those bloody hall sensors will let you down.
