36V 250W Minimotor - Front Wheel

I received my kit a week ago and put it together on the last weekend.

Everything works ok..the power from the motor is really amazing.

At this point some experiences I made, maybe helpfull for others:

The sense of rotation ist not marked on the hub, there is no hint in the manual either, so I studied some pictures at the DIY-gallery, all had the motor wire on the left hand side.
I decided to do it the same way, but this turned out to be wrong! The bike made a big jump backwards when I pressed the throttle for the first time ;-)

The 250W front minimotor has to be installed with the motor wire to the right hand side (driving direction) !

The wheel is not centered well, there is an unbalance when riding faster, this has to be fixed.

I have three questions:

How can I utilize the light switch beneath the power gauge?

What is the function of the connector labeled "reverse"?

Is there a power consumption from the battery, if the main power connector (+) is permanently connected?
I use a switch to disconnect the thinner red wire as shown the wiring diagramm?

Reverse is of no use on a minimotor, this motor has a freewheel that wil prevent the motor from engaging when going backwards. But it works great on the direct drive motors!

The buttons have Normally Open (N.O.) switch and may be used for whatever purpose you like. The "Magic" controller have some inputs like reverse and cruise that can be used with the buttons if you need those functions. You will find more information in various places on this forum and on the GM web site.

Hi Per,
I tried it out before I read your reply. After pressing the  red switch (motor reverse, light symbol) and turning the throttle the minimotor will make a sound but the wheel will not move. I remembered that I read about the freewheel...allright  problem solved!
I disconnected the  reverse connector and measured across the contacts (yellow and brown) coming from the thumb throttle switch, ok, a perfect switch for the bike lights.
