Golden motor 'axial flux' HPM3000B motor... Any info please?
« on: March 04, 2018, 01:36:42 PM »
Hi,
Is there any info on this motor?
Specs, efficiency, schematics/drawings, components?

It is being used in the electric mx bike as seen here.. https://www.electricbike.com/sur-ron/

Thanks
Andrew :)

2. Rated power: 2-3KW
3. Peak power: 6KW
4. Speed: 3000-5000rpm
5. Rated torque: 10 Nm
6. Peak torque: 25 Nm

HPM3000 (3KW) Motor Performance Data (72V) (.PDF)
HPM3000 (3KW) Motor Performance Curve (72V) (.PDF)

The Miromax site shows more options on battery voltages:

Dimensioned drawings of both the air and liquid cooled motors can be found on the Miromax site.

I guess you are now wanting more power for use in the lovely snow that we have just had?

Thanks Alan, very thorough as always. I'm intrigued by mid-drive units at present, I just wish they weren't so noisey.  Belt drive would be better imo, but I suppose there must be reasons why these new machines are chain driven.

It has been fun for a couple of days here in Cardiff for sure. Minus 12, 50mph gusts of snow and ice. Some very cool snow drifts. To be honest, ive mainly been sledging and making snow angels rather than cycle tracks. Two days off off work too ;)   The big thaw is now taking place..... Bring on spring I say!

These high rpm motors seem to hit quite a high efficiency at points. I guess they heat up less than hub motors when pushed to the edge.
