Hi Bwizz
what is your "enviroment" ans specs? I'd three and only one was faulty (which was mechanical, which is afaik not the main problem of GM). As you might have read the GM 48V spec is very opportunistic as most components (like the most likely failing 5V supply) is limited to 48V, lots of FETs and condensators are limited to 50/63V, which is easily reachable with newly charged Li-Ion (4.05V max and 16 cells= 64,8V max). A 50V FET can run for some time on overload, and not every C is exploding when reaching the max specified voltage, BUT (to bring one of my 'pictures' into here):
a standard VW Beatle can reach 260km/h, BUT Freefall is not the right enviroment for the commercial spec!
If you are willing to enhance the MP3 it seems best to choose an external controller with good spec. Some of the members here did it (and even advised me when my first one died) and have best experience with it. The BLDC is quite good in comparison to the cost shrinked controller. In my "Quality of MP" thread I listed most of the occured errors. Even with my bad experience with GMs Service (I know I'm pulling your leg), I'll stay with my two remaining MP3's and might change the electronic to some serious manufacturer, BECAUSE the MP1/2/3 is quite an experience when running as it should be.
Cheers
Sam
