New 48V15AH LiFePO4 Battery Eco-pack Bag demensions?
« on: March 01, 2013, 01:25:24 AM »
Just saw this larger capacity battery in the GM.ca store and am wondering about the demensions. Tax refund time is here in the U.S. and Im almost ready to pull the trigger on a kit but am still searching battery options for my rathar odd build. Thanks in advance. :)

OK... >:( How stupid am I ??

Not nearly as stupid as those measurements, there is obviously something wrong with Gary's tape measure.

How can this battery measure 380 x 320 x 300...

...when this pack is twice the Ah capacity, more than twice as heavy, yet its total volume (11.115 litres) is apparently less than a third of the above battery's 36.48 litres? ::)

I somehow don't think that's correct. ;)

If you compare it against the size with the Magic Pie's hub (which is approx 300mm diameter) you can see its height is a lot shorter than any of those measurements, and don't forget the bag is also slightly larger.

The total volume (according to those measurements) would be 5.4 time more than this 6.75 litre pack.

Gary, have you got a tape measure that is not made of elastic that you can measure the actual height, length and width with a bit more accuracy please?

lol...

I still have not had one in my hands yet, so I can't measure one myself. I asked GM China the size and that is what they told me. So without thinking I added it to the page. I guess I'll ask again and maybe take an average of the two answers :) Like most things with GM nothing is definite until I get my hands on it.

lol again..

I just went back to my email to see if I had read it correctly. Here is what they wrote..

>Hi Gary,

>The package size of the model is 38*32*30cm.

lol. it looks like this is the size of the box it comes in!

I have just re-asked for the battery size without the box and bag.
