Reviving this old thread, because I want to ask if you know how I can get ahold of the MP5 hub’s drive side shell, in order to convert the 135mm front hub motor to a rear one. This hub is much too powerful to use up front.

Both the fork and rear dropouts of my bike are 135mm spaced, and the front disc brake mount is spaced the same as the rear as well.

Is it simply a matter of replacing the drive side shell? How can I get ahold of one?

Thanks in advance

Pedal assist before throttle does not work. I will measure the throttle resistance. Thanks for the info. I am trying to borrow another controller to swap in.
I measured between the black and green on the throttle and red to green at the controller connector.
Both return 32 megs with no change with lever position.
Bad throttle?

I’ve answered my own question.

3 pin Grin / Cycle Analyst throttle wiring
Red:+5vdc
Black: Ground
White: Speed Control Signal (1-4v output)

5 pin Wuxing throttle wiring
Pin 1: White, 5vdc
Pin 2: Green, Speed Control/Throttle Signal (1-4v output)
Pin 3: Black, Ground
Pin 4: Brown, Lighting Feed
Pin 5: Orange, Battery Voltage Indicator

Operational check good 👍

Horay, now I can use my rear shifter again.

Hi, I’m new to this forum.

I’m trying to use the 3-wire throttle (black, red, white) with the Wuxing 29DX 5-wire connector (black, brown, orange, white, green).

Which wires do I splice together?

I’ll attach photos.

Thanks in advance

As I have been digging into similar problems in the past, one recommendation would be that you start the throttle as slow as possible for testing, because otherwise logic kicks in and does not allow movement if wheel does not have any load. It could be a firmware dependent setting. if you say motor works on pedaling then PAS logic works which may mean there is a dead diode or two in the front and back faces of the controller somewhere near the throttle signal. try to replace it with another T3 diode, also you might have burned a 4.72k resistor, which first hits the throttle signal on the board

Thanks a lot, @Alan all this help is highly appreciated, I usually repair graphic cards in spare time, but this board got me talking to my gpt more than to myself. I had to reverse engineer the whole thing until I found out I was wrongly thinking signal wire is the GND wire. Was a very hard learning.

After all, the second board is fully functional now.

Thanks again, if you know where I can get this SMP5-20150702.OC8 firmware it would be helpful, otherwise not sure if its dump-able, but should be I think :D.

If you're using a 36V battery the controller should be set to 36V.

The firmware for the Smart Pies should be SMP5-20150702.OC8 the other two versions (MP5-20150702.OC8 and EDGE-20150702.OC8) are for the Magic Pie 5 and the Magic Pie edge motors.

If your controller is marked 18A it should already have the correct firmware for your Smart Pie.  ;)
