Title: Optimized Charging
Post by: eggzilla on May 10, 2009, 08:31:43 PM
Hi,

I'm assuming that the charging time plotted against voltage of the battery (or percentage charged) is not a linear equation. so what i'm wondering is if anybody have any data regarding this?
I mean if the last hour of charging only consist of the last percent to fully charged then I might aswell skip it, right?

forgot to say, i'm talking about a Lifepo4 36V 10A from GoldenMotor

The BMS (battery management system) in your Lifepo4 pack uses the end of the charge cycle the balance the charge to all the cells. This brings all the cells up to a full charge and provides the full capacity of the pack.

If you are in a hurry once in a while it is OK to cut the charge short, but if you have time leave it plugged in overnight.
