Title: MP5 - Reversed input polarity, fried controller?
Post by: Norsethunders on May 21, 2018, 06:15:04 AM
I accidentally reversed the input polarity from my battery to the motor.  I immediately fixed it, but since then the motor won't spin, however the power lights on my throttle do light up.  Should I just replace the controller or is there any hope of repair?

Hi and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.

If the controller has been damaged by reverse polarity, I think a repair would be very difficult due to the construction of the controller and the all over covering of the circuit board with the thick conformal coating (assuming you were able to identify the failed components and obtain replacements parts).

I think that a replacement controller (https://www.goldenmotor.ca/products/Magic-Pie-5-Vector-Internal-Controller-with-Vector-plug.html) will be the easiest and quickest cure.
