Title: Speed Throttle for HPC 700 controller
Post by: Sourcefinder on September 03, 2016, 07:52:59 AM
Hi,

I have now the HPC 700 controller working.

At the moment I use a 5k Ohm potentiometer as speed throttle.
But this does not look nice in a vehicle, so I want to use kind of speed throttle for a motorbike.

I already have two speed throttles, but it seems they wont work.

There are three wires on the conttroller, red, white an black.
Red is +5V, black is GND and white is 0-5V.
In my eyes this means it would work on any potentiometer that has 3 wires, whatever the resistance is?

I tried also to do the set-up of the accelerator in the software....

It would be great if anyone could give me short hint how to use a speed throttle like on a motorbike.

Thanks!

The GM throttles (both thumb and twist type) use a Hall sensor instead of a potentiometer.

There appears to be a specific option for this in the PI800 setting program:

Throttle Type Setting  0:Hall effect  1: Potentiometer
