anybody know how much torque these motors deliver?

With a 48V battery and the standard controller I would expect at least 38Nm of torque from the Smart Pie and over 52Nm from the Magic Pie.
My original (MkI) Magic Pie had a modified internal controller and I measured a stall torque of 93Nm (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=4283.msg24990;topicseen#msg24990) while drawing 65.94 Amps @ 25.6V (1,694 Watts) from my 25.9V 10Ah LiPo pack.
The Magic Pie is more than capable of delivering huge amounts of torque when high current is supplied. On a 51.8V LiPo pack my modified Magic Pie would easily flip the bike over backwards if you accelerated too hard from a standstill.

I suppose it is not really surprising considering the amount of battery power the modified controller was actually drawing before it finally expired:
