Stupid forum keeps deleting my posts randomly when it isn't happy that I'm not paying it enough attention... I guess I'll have to try again... Stupids message board!!!
I'm looking for the FRONT 26" Magic Pie 5 (MP5), failing that FRONT 26" Magic Pie 4 (MP4) (been told they are dimensionally the same) dimensions, measurements, schematic, anything!
I've been able to find just about everything except the front MP5's/MP4's measurements! It's like the line "water, water whatever but nothing to drink"...
I'm trying to get the info I need to add to the spoke calculator but there's nothing out there as far as I know. It's really stupid that GM China doesn't show this info for the MP5/MP4 & just leaves the end users to have to try to accurately measure everything! I'm not able to measure this stuff accurately but I spent forever trying to figure it out & I'm not getting anywhere! It's not like I'm asking for engineering plans or state secrets... I just want accurate measurements so I can easily use my motors... Why is that so difficult?
I know I'm not alone, lots of people have replaced spokes, relaced & re/built the MP5/MP4; so they had to have these measurements... For mercy's sake, please post them here indicating front/rear, size, etc. That way everyone does not have to waste time trying to measure the things!
I thought I saw someone post the MP4's measurements but I can't find it anywhere. I also know Alan said the spoke calculator he recommended had the MPs info but it only has the MP3!
I know I'm not alone feeling frustrated trying to accurately measures or find this info! I know others have to have this info, even if it's just the hub but not the wheel, I'll take anything, please!
I'll do my share because I've found other motors schematic & I'll post them here but please someone post the front Magic Pie 5/4!
Meanwhile, hey GM China! Get your act together & publish the front MP5 & MP4's schematics! It's not secret but not doing it will cost you customers when people see that they can't get the simplest yet essential info from you about your products!
I'll stop here but there's more to transcribe & organize still...

Here are two drawings with some dimensions for the Magic Pie 3, 4 & 5 front and rear motors:
The drawings don't show the dropout measurements including the thickness of the two axle washers that fit inside the dropouts:
But the motors usually fit most 100mm front dropouts or 135mm rear dropouts.
Regarding the spoke calculator, the physical dimensions of the MPII, MPIII, MP4 and MP5 are pretty much the same with just a slight difference in the flange spacing which would not affect the required spoke length.
The original MkI Magic Pie is the only one that is different as it does not have the benefit of the paired holes:

This picture clearly shows the difference between the two spoke lengths used for the 26" GM rims fitted to Magic Pies.
The longer spoke is for the MkI version and the shorter spoke fits MPII, MPIII, MP4 and MP5.
The original Pie had crossed spokes as indicated by the dotted lines in the above diagram.

The MP4 hub is the same as the MPIII apart from the vector controller and a slightly different stator winding configuration.
The MP5 hub is identical to the MP4 but has a more recent controller that supports Bluetooth connectivity.
To use Justin's Spoke Calculator (http://www.ebikes.ca/tools/spoke-calc.html) you simply select the Magic Pie III hub from the drop down list and make sure you select a cross pattern of "0" or the angle between the spoke and the rim will be too large to allow the nipples to seat correctly in the rim.
