Title: BAC-601 Error 9
Post by: MrBubbles on April 25, 2015, 03:49:10 AM
I just received my BAC-601 Smart LCD and have the same firmware(?) configuration as Lewis in this post: goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=5572.msg31706#msg31706 (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=5572.msg31706#msg31706) - only 3 settings (SE) menu options.

Furthermore, my unit repeatedly generates Error 9 (Communication failure) and doesn't provide any information. Anyone have any suggestions or am I going to have to return it?

Hi and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.

I suggest you contact David at GM China (http://www.arhservices.co.uk/GoldenMotor/email/Davidmail_zps6673dff6.GIF) and explain your problem and see what he suggests.

only 3 settings (SE) menu options.

That is correct.
There is no longer a "fine adjustment" for the wheel size.

Thanks All.

I returned the Smart LCD to Gary at Golden Motor Canada and it tested fine at his end.

I'm wondering if the controller might be the problem - however, the USB Cable/Software works fine so I'm inclined to think the controller is fine as well.  The bike itself is also working well.

The only other thought is if there's a compatibility issue with different revisions of the MP4/Smart LCD - I've contacted David as suggested and am awaiting his response.

Have some input for the Magic Pie 4 and BAC-601 Smart LCD
I got one to work with the Smart Magic Pie 4 would not work
purchased a Smart Pie 4 and it works perfect with it.
I think it has something to do with the controller version of the earlier Smart Pie 4s
