Title: Bike Frame Big Enough to Accomodate GM 10aH battery
Post by: Bedmountain on September 11, 2014, 12:16:20 PM
Hi All

For my second MP3 build I'm keen to mount the battery inside the frame triangle. The frame I used for my first build was about an inch too small to fit it in so I mounted it on the top tube.

Anybody out there done this before or know of a specific make/size that would fit a GM 10AH battery in.

Going down the route of trawling ebay and asking sellers to measure the inside dimensions for me at the moment but not having much luck.

Many Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,

You can figure out the dimensions by scaling off the wheel size on a photo. Assuming you know what size the wheels are...

Hello again Ben.

You asked me about the frame I used to fit my battery. It was a 21" Rockhopper.
I used L shaped steel brackets but the battery was just too heavy. It sheared one of the bottle cage bosses right off the frame.
I'm now looking for a proper made for mounting on the frame battery.

Any suggestions on batteries from anyone else would be appreciated.

My Nirve has a lot of space ,but it may not be the type of frame you are looking for . I like the chopper look . Rod
