Title: mp3 noise on first use

Our mp3 has developed a new quirk in that ,On first use of the day there is a growl type noise and resistance as though the recycle brake has come on.
It also happens occasionally on  a ride

How old is the motor, and can you hear any unusual rubbing noises if you spin the wheel by hand?

Its had littel use over about 9 months old no  rubbing noise spins freely
