Post by: naveen.rabelli on April 10, 2014, 07:17:01 PM
hi,

Can any one tell me, the exact continous current rating for HPC300H. On the GM website it says 180Amps.  but for some reason, my vehicle only take s max of 120 Amps and the controller gets hot.. any suggestions and thoughts will be appreciated.

Cheers,
naveen

Hi Naveen,

I notice that the 180 Amps input current is peak not continuous.

If your controller is getting too hot it might be worth fabricating some form of water cooled aluminium plate assembly to help dissipate the heat.

An alternative, but more expensive option, would be to fit the HPC500H which is rated at 300 Amps peak.
