Title: Thread size/type MP3 Axel
Post by: Garm@n on May 17, 2013, 06:49:30 PM
I am trying to buy a lock nut for my mp3 hub.  I found that for some strange reason the nuts loosen on the axel.  I have only taken this bike out 5 times so I am concerned that I will forget to check and then something goes wrong.  thanks

The recommended method is a torque arm to keep the nuts from coming lose.

is very popular.

I built my own to clamp over the fork and grip the tubes, but I have a shop to work in.

Yes those nuts has a lot of play.
You need some lock washers and Locktite.

Lock Tight is a good idea, but I would like to know the nut size and type for future reference.  Thanks

It's M14 X 1.5 thread size.

I have to say this axle is very strong compare to Crystalyte M12 axle (very soft).
