Title: Magic Pie 3 Has Power But Motor Won't Run
Post by: jmeaghan on March 28, 2013, 05:32:24 PM
Hello I just setup my Magic Pie 3 I followed all the instructions and the unit has power however the motor won't turn.  Does anyone else have this problem or a solution for this problem?

Thank you.

Hi Jeremy and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.

I have a few questions for you:

Does the wheel turn easily by hand?

Do all three LEDs on the throttle unit light up when you switch the battery on?

Do they stay on when you operate the throttle?

Has the battery been fully charged?

What voltage battery do you have?

Also, check that all the connectors are pushed together correctly and that both brake levers are springing all the way back to the stops when released.
If it still doesn't run, temporarily unplug the brake lever wires and gently try the throttle again, just in case you have a faulty brake switch.

If your kit came with two throttle units (thumb and twist) try plugging in and operating the unused throttle to see if it makes any difference.

If your motor is now working correctly, please let us know what the cause of the problem was (if you have been able to locate it.)  ;)

I am having a similar problem. Originally when I hooked the motor and the battery up it worked fine. Then all of a sudden I went to test it a few days later and the motor will not turn at all.

Here are some details:

Any thoughts?

I suggest you take a look at this post (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=4599.msg26581#msg26581) for details of a couple of some further tests which should hopefully help you locate the cause of the problem.
