Title: I am pulling 3KW peak...no problem for MP3
Post by: MAGICPIE3FOCUSPOWER on January 11, 2013, 08:47:39 PM
Well,

Waauww I am impressed I can pull 3KW peak when starting.
Motor has run 100km now, I hope it will last long.... ;D

The peak current is 72A my controller will cuttoff.... ;D

And normal flat road it will use 10A so that is about 500W at max speed 40 km/h :)

A lot of torque, I can still feel it after the crash (wheelie when starting up).

What did you do? Only playing with the internal controller or have you got an external installed?

I managed to get my SmartPie to do 3kw too  ;D But I was pushing 80 volts at it.

Nope after the internal broke and got a new one.
I have no more faith in this controller.
So I went for Kelly.... 8)

Waauww much better.

Haha 80V wauuww, I am using only 48V ;D

Okay after 300 km running time.
There is a knocking noise coiming out the motor, I suspect it is the big bearing problem >:(

I looked inside one of those MPIII yesterday and the big bearing on that one is much bigger than on the SmartPie. Good luck on repair.

Yup is really a big bearing......
I have to order some from Ebay (China).
I can't find real quality one:-(

I bought from a seller called Asia Engineer (http://stores.ebay.com/Asia-Engineer). It isn't top quality, but unlike all the other china sellers I found he at least mentioned some numbers (like V1 vibration, ABEC1 and 8000rpm).

Yes I would to buy at least ABEC 3 or higher.
ABEC 1 is crappy........

I ordered ABEC3 for the small bearing and that small bearing cost as much as the big one so I'm guessing a big ABEC3 bearing is going to be very expensive. What's the number on the bearing?

I would like to have: 6917-2RS

Yes maybe it's expensive, but better then destroying the motor......

wow, that one is like 3 times as expensive than the 6812 I have in my SmartPie. If you read the thread about the SmartPie bearing you'll know I was quoted $200 for my SmartPie bearing at my local dealer, a new SmartPie without controller and rim is $128...

I am lucky...
I have found one quality bearing, but it is a open bearing.
O well I don't mind the bearing is still in the motor, so dirt etc can get in.....

Pff......I feel a little relief now...

Without the rubber seals, a hose directed in the wrong place could easily allow water to make its way between the the hub cover and the controller housing and straight into the bearing, passing straight through it and ending up inside the main motor assembly. :o

I personally, would not choose to fit any bearing without rubber seals to my MPIII!

Even a quality bearing is unlikely to last very long once water and dirt gets into it.  ;)

Nope my MP3is heavy modded, much better then stock.

Even with a waterhose, water can't get in......due my mods.... 8)
This is my last GM motor, I have learned the hard way....
Too much money spended....to make it good...

Also the bearing is placed in a good spot, so it's difficult for water and dirt.

O yeah I have bought NSK brand bearing 8)
