Title: MPIII conversion between 20'' (cast) and 26'' (spoked)
Post by: MikeX on November 07, 2012, 04:50:44 PM
Hi,

I just noticed the 20'' version of MPIII comes with a cast alloy wheel, without spokes.

I can't discern from the photos - will it be possible to (should I decide in the future) convert the 20'' wheel's motor to work on 26'' wheels?
The real question is whether the cast alloy part is removable from the motor, and whether the 20'' motor still has spoke mounts.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,

The 20" cast rim is exactly name implies.  The rim is an integral piece of the casting, with no provision for spokes.    I widened mine to 4 inches, but I see no way to easily increase the diameter for mounting a 26" tire.

TTFN,
Dennis

Oh, I was hoping it's more modular than that. Thanks for the info!
