Title: Pressing cruise control button twice does not put Magic Pie in pedelec mode
Post by: dstrom on February 01, 2012, 09:19:58 PM
The user manual states that pressing the cruise control button should result in a beep. But when I press the button twice nothing happens and the trottle still works.

The cruise control button seems to work, because when I press it, it keeps the speed.

The pedelec mode also seems to work because the motor starts when I start cycling without thouching the trottle.

Is there some configuration that I have missed?

Hi Dstrom and(https://i.imgur.com/evDSMvT.png)to the forum.

The controllers have undergone several changes over the past couple of years, but the manual still remains unchanged. ::)

When the pedelec sensor is fitted, the pedelec function operates automatically when you start pedalling, so it is no longer necessary to use the cruise button to select it.

I have also noticed that some of the later controllers don't even beep when the throttle is disconnected, like the earlier ones did. In fact, the MP III does not appear to have any obvious means of indicating failure of the throttle or brake switch etc. like the earlier controller had.

Alan is spot on, 2 versions of my pies beep, beep when cruise is hit twice, but the newer version I have 1 of does not.

They both work tops though!!!

But in my case the trottle is still working after I press the cruise control button twice.
Is there a way to disable the trottle by pressing the cruise control or some other button?
