Title: how do you change controller settings using your computer

i would like to view and possibly change my controller's setting, such as limiting current to the motor....i have bought the cable, and connected the controller to my mac computer,  but nothing comes up on the desktop or the 'devices' list....perhaps the computer doesn't supply the voltage necessary for the controller....i'm so lost without instructions....jory

you can download the software needed here http://www.goldenmotor.com/e-Bike-DIY/PD_282_speed.rar (http://www.goldenmotor.com/e-Bike-DIY/PD_282_speed.rar)   though it is designed for windows xp.
