Title: 902 KIT and 48V
Post by: urosv on August 08, 2011, 01:14:52 PM
Is there a way to use 48V battery on 902 KIT and BAC281P

Yes, just do it. The mini motor will work very well with the 48v battery.  You may want to restrict the amps going to the motor via the external controller/usb lead,  but as they are already very restricted maybe  lower the peak and continuous amps a little, otherwise you could potentially put too many amps throught the wiring/motor and burn them out - potentially.  My advise would be not to do standing starts without pedalling as the mini motor gears can be fragile. Under full load (especially if you are trying to start on a hill going up) they are known to strip,  but as I have said above always assist the motor with pedalling when taking off.

Thanks Andrew. Is anybody tried to do this. And what is the optimum AMP settings on the controller. Since there is 36V led controls how can I tune this to show propper Voltage ?

you should be fine running 400w .  I am running two mini motors off one 54v 20ah lithium pack and have seen peaks of 800 watts(shared between the two 36v motors) with both the magic controllers set to 9A cont. 18A peak, and have only ever seen my cycle analyst show 19A peak, so it seems pretty accurate.

What about led indicator ?

Take a look at this post (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?topic=2094.0) for further information on fine tuning the battery gauge to suit your battery voltage.
