Title: wire set for Magic Pie controller

Hello,
i have a question:
my wire set for Magic Pie controller has a capacitor in the battery wire connector G.
is this a capacitor or varistor ?! and what is this for a value?
this component is broken, I need a new component.

I wonder if GM have fitted something that works as a pre-charge device to eliminate the big spark on initial battery connection, as I have not seen anything fitted into that particular lead (apart from a switch to operate the anti-theft function on earlier controllers).
There used to be just a piece of wire looped across from the battery positive connection to the "d" terminal.

A picture would certainly be helpful.

Chris, that component appears to be an "overcurrent protection device" to limit the current to 40Amps max.

The RXEF050 is a radial resettable fuse with a working voltage of 72 VDC. It comes in bulk packaging and operates at 40 amps

If you try a Google search for RXEF050 72 (http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUK343&q=RXEF050+72&btnG=Google+Search) you should be able to find a suitable replacement.

I have attached a screen shot of a datasheet I found with more details below.

This is something I have not seen before. I just received a sea order a few days back and will look at my new controllers to see what the wires look like. Ill get back to you with pictures.

Well I looked in a box of new controllers, opened a MP2 external kit, a 901 and a 902 kit. None of the controllers had any capacitor added to the wiring. Everything looks normal.
