Forgive me if this has already been discussed (I searched the topic though).
1) Has anyone experimented with solar charging their Golden Motor battery? I see that GM sells a solar charger, but doesn't mention if there is a charge controller required. Can you please forward me to a thread if this has been discussed?
2) Where can I buy wire connectors (terminals?) like the ones that ship with the Magic Pie? Or does anyone have recommendations for better/similar quick release connectors?
Thanks
Bart

I'm also interested in Q#:1... ;)
GM states Voc= 63.4V for the 36V panels, and 82.9V for the 48V panel, so it seems that it is just 3 '12V' panels for 36V, and 4 '12V' panels for 48V... (a '12V' panel have usually a Voc of 20-21V.)

no problem to charge battery with solar installation...use "boost-UP" module to increase tension from 12v to 60v (max).
i use this since 2 years in my bike.

Hey 'personnel' looks like you already had my idea long time ago!

Are you guys talking about the MPPT Boost/Charge controllers? I have a 36V battery and I've only seen 12/24 models.
Units like this are too pricey for me: http://www.terrapinsolar.com/Solar-Boost-SB6024HL-60A-36V-48V-input-12-24v-out-BLU-18008.htm
What sort of panel is recommended for this type of system (volt/amp or watt)?
Thanks for the info...

Also, I found a great source for replacement wire connectors - allelectronics http://tinyurl.com/5sjfdyo
I wish they didn't already have the leads on them, but they worked great.
