Title: How many MOSFETS are there on the stock GM/Pie controller?
Post by: Magzy on May 12, 2011, 06:03:58 AM
I've had a search on the website and the forum but can't find any info on it..

Also, who is the manufacturer of the GM Mosfets? (just out of interest)

There are 6

I'll try and dig up the post - I've already pepsi maxed that (been there done that...)

P140NF75 made by ST Microelectronics

If you are tinkering, I would try and source another similar N gate perhaps at a higher cost. These fets are seriously poor at switching current direction. Boooo

so assuming that a fet us just a gate to turn current on or off at just the right moment, how would having 9 or 12 or even 18 fets improve things???

The more FETs you have, the more power the controller can handle without being overloaded, because the total power being switched is equally spread across two or more FETs working in parallel.
