Title: extra battery
Post by: Hednztrüm on February 12, 2011, 12:44:59 PM
hi yall!

Thinkin of buying extra battery.

What difference between a GM48v12ah, GM36v16ah and a PING48v15ah?
Which of them gives the most range? Which would you choose?

Cheers from a total battery noob

15Ah is more than 12Ah, the 36v 16ah has the same amount of cells as the 48v 12ah. but the 15ah ping has more W/h

ok so the ping would be my choice? But I like GMs factory battpacks, are the pingbattery well protected from moist and so on or do I have to customize it somehow?

GM packs are well protected and now have sealed charge connector and even heatshrink on the balance lead.

The case is really convenient, plus it has a switch already inbuilt and is portable as you can remove it from your bike to charge inside easily or when temperatures are at extremes.

I don't personally use Ping batteries, but I have heard nothing bad about them. They are not a super high power battery anway.

From what I've seen the pack is protected by tape and possibly cardboard... So I assume you would need to waterproof it and work out a way to mount it (in a bag etc.) and worry about charging leads and connections to your ebike...

Personal choice, but I would go with the 48v12Ah..

Cheers
