Hi All
I have managed to make my bike mostly legal for use on the UK roads, however the only exception is the pedelec, which when activated, wants to put me through the nearest wall available....
now I can rip apart the connections and go multimeter but I thought I would ask you fine gents first...what format is the signal
Now the pedelec sensor gets 5v and ground, not really essential for a simple magnet switch, is the feedback variable analogue voltage that could be sunk by the cycle analyst, or is it a simple pulse on each revolution of the magnet
Many thanks all
Paul

G'day paul
I'm not if putting a resistor in series with the PAS wire would make any difference, but there is 5v, gnd and PAS signal so it could.
What you really need to do to adjust it easily, is with the PI-200 USB cable. So then you can can adjust your regen or even the top speed if you want to really keep within limits

Hello there ;)
Well I think I found the answer...the sensor is indeed a hall sensor, so requires a 5v......However there is a version of the hall sensor which can detect which direction the magnet is travelling in, so that the pedelec does not get engaged going backwards.....havent multimetered the output yet, but I got a wiring rebuild coming up when I install the second pie, so ill test it then and will let you all know the outcome
many thanks for the response
regards

Hi All
just a quick update, finally tested this
The signal is 5v constant, dropping to 0v when one of the magnets passes the hall sensor
