Is it ok to leave my GM battery overnight on a 30 minute on/off timer charge? 30 mins is the shortest interval on my timer.

Also the battery is in my garage, temps around zero degrees C.

I don't know specifics but I don't think 0 degrees celcius is a bit to low for an charge temp.

are you saying that I should not be charging my battery at this temp, or are you saying that I don't need to balance charge at this temp?

Ping batteries are awesome the way they balance with their BMS. They actually have the abilityy to charge the cell up to the maximum recommneded value and switch the charger off if any cells reaches this max voltage.
If this happens the bms disconnects the charger and allows the bms to burn the volts the cells down, I don't think the gm charger does this and this may explain the common failures with the gm packs we see.
Watching the signalabs bms cell leds and charger switch off and on you can see how successfull this on and off process works to bring the lower cells up to speed.
A battery can take ages to balance. I know my new pack took 12 hours for all cells to be balanced when new.
When the charger is engaged it delivers 2 amps and when sitting it only gives 400ma depending on the size of the pack. This is not even close enouugh to balance a pack in a single charge.
Different temperatures through of a pack is quite common. Like if I leave my garage door closed in the morning the sun heats one side of the bike up hot.
To charge an pack with one side warm and the other cool is a very big NO NO!.
I just spent $1700 on two packs I like to ride them hard then spoon them. But my packs are awesome and deliver above there rated capacity and still havent seen LVC.

Im doing 50 amps at 64v 3200 watts. and speeds to 50kph.
My anaconda single pie eats dual monkleys for breakfast.
And two MP bikes hmmm is pushing two people nows. Must be lonely riding all by yourself.

Of course I will struggle to do get near this with a GM 48v pack!

So would it be best for me with my GM battery to bring it in doors at night and do 30 minute charges over night? or should I just leave the charger fully on over night???
i feel i've lost a bit of power when going up steep hills, it requires more pedal effort than usual. If my battery is starting to fail after only a few weeks of use I will really start thinking that i've been conned out of $960 USD's by Golden Motor.
