I have just built a 700 front wheel using a mini motor. After completion I realized that I did not lace the spokes like on ordinary bicycle wheels. On another GM wheel that was bought complete the spokes are not laced either. By lacing I mean that spokes exiting outside flange runs behind spokes exiting inside flange.
My question is: Is my wheel still OK or should I redo the wheel with laced spokes?
I think lacing may cause too much bending of the spokes as the spokes are much shorter on a motorized wheel than on a normal wheel. Any thoughts and ideas?

Helge,
Your wheel should be fine as it is. If it's correctly trued up and tensioned, it should be more than strong enough with the larger hub and shorter spokes.

Thanks Alan, the wheel ended up really nice and true so I really did not want to do it again.
This was my first wheel, quite happy about the result :-)
I'll try to post pictures of the wheel and the complete bike once it is finished.
