Title: Need more power
Post by: scott on October 25, 2009, 02:14:00 PM
I’m currently running GM 48v 12 AH Lithium Iron Battery Pack .I’m looking to increase my range .
Any suggestions?
I live in Canada. It would be nice not to have to order from China.

Thanks Scott

Scott,

Replacing your current battery with a 48V 20Ah battery will give an additional 66% range.
Adding another battery, the same as you already have, in parallel will double your range.

Try your local Canadian GM Dealer: Click here (http://www.goldenmotor.ca/)

Or send a PM to Gary Salo (GM Canada) (http://goldenmotor.com/SMF/index.php?action=profile;u=8525)

Hi Scott

I’m thinking of two 48V 12AH batteries in parallel, I’m just not sure about the mounting. If I just stack them the weight maybe getting to high up. I'm thinking about mounting the plates and batteries on the sides of the rack but they will be unprotected if my bike falls over.

The 48V12AH battery is already in a protective case, but I would probably
put an aluminum skid plate over it just to protect it.

You could opt instead for the 48V20AH pack

then pack that in a case like
