Controller Needed
« on: September 11, 2007, 12:03:46 AM »
Hello

found your site and saw some good prices on the controllers but could not see one that matches my motor.

I have a Doran Motors (curtis) PM 24VDC 41Amps.

I was wondering if I could use the 48V 1000W could be used for it or if another could be recommended.

Regards
Patrike

How about more spec on your motor; poles, winding and lead wire size, number of turns, number of teeth, brushed or brushless, etc.

Hi
Well -- its brushless -- can take any size leads as there are studed  copper screw mounts -- 1 hp rated -- 5/8 keyed shaft with a 18 tooth sprocket on the  shaft -- 3000 rpm --- duty = (INT) -- this one I do not know what it means, INS. CL = 105A-A1

Thanks
patrike

Although brushless started off with as possible, the 3,000 RPM is the killer. In one of the topics the is a link to an electric scooter supplier in the redwoods of California South of San Hose. As I recall they had a large variety of controllers. Golden's operate at 10% of that. Drop an email to sales@goldenmotor.com with your question to be sure. Good luck.

Hi

How long does it take for sales to get back to someone -- I have not heard back from anyone yet.  Do they have a good rep for getting back.

The Pro-150 sounds like the new, new regen controller that Golden is building, but at $173 it will be well above Golden's price.

Update:... Turns out its for brushless type motors and not brushless 3-phase.

...also, the reply I just got from 4QD states that ALL of their controllers are for brush type motors.
