rear wheel kit

I have just received the rear wheel kit from golden motor.
I plan to run on 48v 8ah nimh batteries its a 500w motor.
Has anybody info on a. linking 24v batteries and connectors required and b.
what sort of performance expected.

I'm just now finishing up a phase power lead replacement due to melted insulation and shorted leads. I seem to be the only one reporting this problem, however, it has happened to me four times on two motors.

A more sensible solution would be to keep the 36v system running on 36v, so you won't have problems...
I used 16AWG

Performance?  Yes!
Front wheel screeching from a halt on full throttle, would last about 1/2 second or so...

I just ordered a rear wheel kit as well, and I'm wondering if you had any fit issues with yours. It's been said elsewhere on this forum that the rear wheel kits have 160mm spacing, which is a lot wider than a standard rear hub, and I'd just like to verify if this is the case.

Any chance you could post some close-up photos of the rear hub to give me an idea of what I'll be dealing with?

hi dave,
I didnt have any probs fitting mine but did pull the swing arm out a fraction to slip it in. I didnt like the way it is secured from turning (torque) but if I get it running I will see. Having other probs I guess its a learning process(see my new post) I will post pics tomorow wed good luck.
